Capture Your First Flag
Deploy your first real lab machine, use six simple commands to follow a trail of notes, and capture a hidden flag.
By the end of this lesson you will have deployed a Linux lab machine, logged in through your browser, and used whoami, pwd, ls, ls -a, cd and cat to follow a short trail of notes, find a hidden file, and submit your first flag. A flag is a short secret piece of text hidden inside a lab that proves you completed a task; Purple Edge flags look like PE{some_words}. This machine belongs to Purple Edge and you have permission to explore it. You already met every command you need in the earlier lessons, so this is practice, not a first encounter. Take your time, read each result, and if you see an error that is normal: read it, it usually tells you what went wrong.
